Dental Implants Promotes a More Confident You

Brushing and flossing aren’t the only ways you can care for your teeth at home! A healthy diet is crucial for preventing cavities, maintaining a healthy smile, and feeling good about yourself. You already know that you should be avoiding sugary items like soda and candy – but did you know there are several other foods that can actually improve the health of your teeth?

Apples

An apple a day does more than keep the doctor away – it keeps the dentist away too! Don’t worry, we won’t mind. When you eat an apple, you’re encouraging the flow of saliva that helps lower bacteria levels in the mouth. The action of eating an apple also helps clean your teeth after a meal and prevent the formation of plaque, which can lead to cavities down the road. Not a bad idea for dessert.

Cheese

As if you needed another reason to snack on some gouda or cheddar! Cheese and other dairy products are packed with calcium, which is crucial for keeping your teeth healthy and strong. Since the enamel of your teeth is made from calcium, getting a daily dose will help strengthen teeth and keep cavities from forming.

Wine

This one might be a surprise to some! Research suggests that red wine might be a key cavity fighter thanks to its role in slowing the growth of oral bacteria. Just make sure to brush your teeth afterward, since red wine can leave stains behind.

Almonds

It seems like there’s nothing a handful of almonds can’t solve. Almonds are low in sugar and an excellent source of calcium and protein. This makes them the perfect guilt-free snack to have on hand. Just avoid any varieties such as honeyed almonds that have sugar added.
