How soon can I eat normally after a restorative dental procedure?

Most patients return to a normal diet within a few days. Stick to soft, lukewarm foods at first, and avoid the treated side until swelling resolves.

Is swelling several days after a dental implant or graft normal?

Yes. Swelling after bone grafting, gum grafting, or implant placement often peaks around day two and improves over the following week. Swelling that worsens after day three is a signal to call our office.

Can I brush my teeth normally right after treatment?

You can generally brush unaffected areas the same day. Around the treatment site, follow your dentist’s specific instructions, since fillings, crowns, and periodontal restorations each call for slightly different care.

Is it normal for my tooth to feel taller after a filling or crown?

A new restoration can feel unfamiliar for a few days. However, if the tooth consistently hits first or causes discomfort when you bite, the restoration may need a minor adjustment.
