Introducing Our Newest Periodontist
Meet Dr. Regina Vayner
Regina Vayner, D.M.D., M.P.H.
Dr. Vayner grew up in Brooklyn, NY with her siblings. She remained in the area until she completed her Masters’ Degree in Public Health. Afterwards, she headed to the Midwest to earn her DMD from Midwestern University in Downers Grove, IL.
Dr. Vayner chose to advance her knowledge and experience in the practice of dentistry by attending a 1-year General Practitioner Residency at Abington-Jefferson Hospital in Abington, PA. During her time there, she quickly recognized her passion for the surgical specialty and continued her post-graduate training as an Oral Surgery Intern at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx. Her time as an intern gave Dr. Vayner a true appreciation for the importance of saving teeth and preserving her patients’ natural dentition.
She then continued her education in the field of periodontics, completing a 3-year surgical residency in Periodontics and Oral Implantology at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Vayner also used her time at Temple University to earn her Masters of Science degree. She was given the opportunity to work with world-renowned mentor Professor Thomas E. Rams to publish research on antibiotic resistance amongst periodontal pathogens. She has also presented posters at the Northeastern Implant Symposium and American Academy of Osseointegration. Most recently, her abstract was accepted by the American Academy of Periodontology for presentation in the 2022 Research Forum. In 2023, Dr Vayner achieved her latest milestone by becoming a board certified periodontist
