The First Choice For Dental Implants & Periodontics

Welcome to the Office of Barry P. Levin DMD PC

Treatment Technology

New technology has changed the way we diagnose, treat, and prevent oral health issues. Here are some of the latest advancements in dentistry that we offer to all our patients:

Navident

A breakthrough in computer-aided implantology, Navident offers our dental surgeon an easy to use, accurate, highly portable and affordable way to plan the desired restoration and implant placement on a virtual patient, then execute the plan on the real patient’s jaw. The virtual patient’s jaw is created from the CT and, optionally, digital impression data, in seconds.

The plan, including crowns and implants, is prepared in a few minutes and can be modified any time. During surgery, Navident shows the advance of the drill tip or implant in the patient’s jaw relative to surrounding structures and the implantation plan.

Minimally Invasive Computer-Guided Implant Surgery

Our practice offers the highest level of technology and patient safety when performing dental implant and surgical procedures. Our cone-beam, CT scanner (CBCT) provides the convenience of in-office imaging, low-radiation exposure and identification of vital structures prior to performing therapy.

The implant-planning software allows for precise implant placement and minimally invasive surgery through computer-guided surgery, resulting in maximum comfort and optimal outcomes. Dr. Levin has published articles and lectured on topics related to computer-guided implant surgery and CT scan technology.

Digital X-Rays

X-rays have long been a staple in every dental office. It gives us an inside look into the current state of your oral health that cannot be seen by the naked eye. Digital x-rays make traditional x-rays more efficient as far as wait time for both the dentist and patient. Also, they cut radiation exposure by as much as 90 % versus traditional x-ray machines and there is a higher level of detail that can be enhanced instantly.

Laser Periodontics

In periodontics, lasers are used to make procedures less invasive by minimizing patient discomfort and avoiding trauma to the gums. Dr. Levin uses laser therapy to decontaminate infected dental implants. Although lasers have not been proven scientifically to show better results over conventional therapies, Lasers are used to create a pain free environment.

In some cases, the laser may be used to reduce gum diseases and avoid a surgical procedure. Research from the American Academy of Periodontology suggests that using lasers as an adjunct to scaling and root planing (SRP) may improve the effectiveness of this procedure. In addition, when lasers are used properly during periodontal therapy, the patient experiences less bleeding, swelling and discomfort during surgery.
